"As a family, we thank you for all you have done for us and for Jim.  Watching as a loved one fails is not an easy thing.  Watching an independent, strong, and intelligent man become more and more dependent is even a greater struggle.  We, and Jim, are ever grateful for the love and care that hospice shared with us and with him.

The nurses, aides, volunteers and all staff who came to visit his home and then ours as well as at the nursing facility never faltered in their kindness and humor.  Of course, Jim, the flirt to the end, loved his girls.  The fact that we saw the same faces day after day allowed us to form relationships and friendships that we hope will last.  With Jim's family dwindling and scattered, he accepted his aides as though they were granddaughters and worried over them just as if they were.  Their obvious delight in his humor also helped us and we were happy to share him and in the end to share our loss.

We are especially thankful that with hospice's help, Jim was able to remain independent for a while longer, and for the relief we were afforded when he came to live with us.  Each time we speak of Jim, it is accompanied with praise for hospice.  Our frustrations and Jim's frustrations, were alleiated knowing that we were not in this alone.  Thank you for all the time and care you have provided our family."
